19 Jun What is permaculture?
A piece of ecology to design yourself!
WHY PERMACULTURE?
That is actually the better question. Permaculture refers to the design of a sustainable living environment. Why would you even want that? That seems like a whole lot of work.
To be honest, I have let this subject come and go for a very long time, but now I am ready to dive into it further. No doubt, this is the same for more people. Something can be interesting and useful, but you’ll only become truly engaged with it, when you are ready for it.
I am ready because I have decided that I am going to build an eco-house, well actually, an eco training center. With that comes a holistic view on the surroundings, a bit of collaboration with nature, and of course, some social co-creation with people who want to share and gain knowledge.
WHY DO I WANT TO APPLY PERMACULTURE?
Because I am wanting a sense of peace. I notice it is easy to let myself be pushed in our Western world to be busy in ways that produce more of an energy leak than a energie boost.
Being in nature works very effectively in finding tranquility, that is old news. And to work together with nature, takes it a little bit further. That is the challenge I want to engage with.
WHAT DO I WANT TO LEARN FIRST?
I want to learn how to create a food forest! And with that have a few beehives to make it complete.
BUT WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF IT ALL?
For me, it is the sharing of knowledge, collaboration, co-creating with each other, to be solidarity in this whole process. To grant each other all the beauty that is there and to play together in our delightful environment. That’s what gives me the most joy.
So, as I make this journey, I will share many of my discoveries. Be welcome and enjoy the learning experience, I’d say!
